Submissions
Types of submissions
Submissions relevant to the conference topics are welcome in the categories and subcategories given below. Please note that not every submission category is available for every conference track (KEYCIT, KCICTP, ITEM) and that there are slight differences in the lengths restrictions to full papers. Such differences are indicated in the descriptions below where relevant.
Full Paper (up to 12 pages (KEYCIT, ITEM); up to 15 pages (KCICTP))
Full papers should describe high quality, unpublished, original research work and results (empirical or theoretical).
Short Paper (up to 5 pages)
- Academic Papers should present unpublished, original work in progress related to empirical or theoretical research.
- Position Papers should describe a theoretically-grounded and well-contextualized position and usually explain or recommend a particular course of action.
- Case Study Papers should give detailed information about a person, group or thing and its development over a period of time.
- Policy Papers should describe a set of ideas or plans which are used as a basis for decisions in education policy, the economy, etc.

Demo/Poster Abstract (up to 2 pages, only KEYCIT, ITEM)
Demo/Poster abstracts should present emerging ideas for future research, teaching practice, or tools.
Workshop (up to 3 pages, only KEYCIT)
In workshops innovative projects or open problems linked to the conference theme or to other current subjects in computer science education will be discussed. Workshops comprise a small number of key presentations followed by a discussion among the participants. Proposals for workshops consist of a short sketch of the subject (max. 3 pages) to be discussed along with planned activities, time frame, and maximum number of participants.
Tutorial (up to 2 pages, only KEYCIT)
Tutorials pursue further education of the participants be it on current innovative projects, programming languages or systems. Proposals for tutorials describe the subject, learning outcomes, time frame, technical requirements and maximum number of participants.
Symposium (only ITEM)
A symposium is a collection of related papers on a central theme of the conference. Proposals for symposia outline the theme, the participants, the structure of the symposium and provide an abstract of each (4 to 6) of their papers (150 to 200 words for each paper submission incl. author information). If accepted, the Symposium coordinator will be asked to invite Symposium authors to submit their papers through the conference site in the appropriate area. Until then, authors should NOT submit their individual papers for the Symposium. Contributing authors’ papers will be published in the proceedings according to the paper type. Only the abstract of the Symposium will be published in proceedings.
How to submit?
All submissions are required to:
- be written in English,
- be provided in Microsoft Word format and to make strict use of the document template and Example document (with author) provided below.
- make strict use of the APA reference style throughout the paper and in the reference section,
- in case of full or short papers, posters, demo abstracts not indicate the authors’ names and affiliations and to refer to prior work appropriately, because the rewiew process will be double-blinded.
